Yani's Surprise Farewell

We had went to the Children's Playground Golden Gate Park...of course it's Yani's last weekend here in SF....had planned to go for a pony ride with the kids...but instead we decided for the playground. The weather was awesome...but sayangnya, we were all puasa huhuhu...padahal enak banget tuh if we had bought KFC or something..hehehe...

As for the surprise farewell, Gema & I planned it a while ago...it took placeat Pizza Orgazmica. So, I had contacted all her friends that are still here...and told them about our plan. Throughout the day..we were all mum about it. But Yani's mood was..she wasn't feelin it to hang out that night...she wanted to stay home. In my mind.."oh..crap...gema has to find out how to get her out of the house"

The surprise was successful (of course! hehehe)...and the turnout was great! Friends from Monterey had driven all the way here (Thank you guyz!) And Yani really was surprised and had no clue!

**Ibu, I hope you had an awesome time!

Check out the pictures of today's events in my Photo Album links =)

I'm Bringin' Sexy Back....Yeah!!

I had just went to Justin Timberlake's concert yesterday night...with Yani, Gema & Ani (Gema's lil sis)...I can't believe that I was given the chance to go to his concert! It was sooo surreal!!! (Thanks again Sophia!) I had missed his first one back in June. He decided to do one last tour in the states...for his FuturSex/Lovesound Tour. Last night, the concert was taken place in San Jose in the HP Pavillion ArenaSo, we headed for San Jose about 5pm...got there around 6pm...We had 3 hours still to kill...and we're all fasting. Trus, Gema called Kak Bian and asked where's the best place to eat around there without going to far from the arena.

He had recommended: Sonoma Chicken about 1/2 a mile from the arena. Gema & Yani had ordered the "Root-iserie Chicken" ..but Gema had ordered the Lemon Chicken Side of Fries and Yani had it smothered with BBQ Sauce with a side of Spaghetti. Ani ordered the Prawn & Avocado Salad...as for me, I ordered the Chicken & Prawn over Rice Pilaf with green beans...we also ordered a side of Fried Calamari Yummmm-O!! MY ORDER OUR APPITIZER ANI'S SALAD YANI'S CHICKEN GEMA'S CHICKEN The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice! You can either eat inside or outside. We chose to eat outside. The service is also very quick! So we ended up having our food on the table already...but waited about 20 minutes till we can actually eat it...cuz we were waiting to break our fast. I'm sure people that was around us was wondering "why are these people just starin at their food and not eat???!!" hahahaha...Kak Bian..thank you yaaahh for recommending this awesome place. We finally left the restaurant about 8pm. Found parking bout couple blocks away..and walked to the arena. It was packed with all sorts of wide range of people! From rockers to hip hoppers...but for sure lots of GIRLS!!! O yeah...can you believe also Nenek2(grandma's)???!! Yup..there was one sittin right in front of Ani & I =D

Everything about the concert was awesome...I also have to add that Timbaland made a guest appearence...and did a lil remix during the intermission of the show!! I would definately go to another JT's concert! Below is a short video of the concert that you all might want to check out! (sorry..it's shakyyyyy..couldn't help dancin' to his tunez...u know what i mean?? ;-) )You could also hear others around me singin to his tunez...hehehe =P

Don't forget to check out the pictures from the show! =) http://picasaweb.google.com/anjeli.n.parisha/JTFutureSexLovesound2007

Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald

I had finally finished reading this book (chick lit of course) that was referred to me from Barlina (Thank you yah Bar!). I can not put the book down after the 1st chapter..but due to babies..i had to =P I steal time reading it when, they're asleep or my during my lunch break at work. Back to the book, this book is a really good book...funny yet romantic...there's also heartache n hope.

It's about this girl name Tami...who is from Iran, was given a gift from her parents to come to America...and live with her sister who is married. During her stay in the states, she had taken an english class..and made many friends. But she had a mission during her stay here...which is 3 months. That is....to find herself a husband before her visa expires! So that she can stay for a better life. The thing is...her family wants her to marry an Iranian man who has an American Citizenship....

She's introduced to several Iranian men and actually had found one...but found herself falling in love with this guy name Ike...that she had met at a coffee shop on her walk from school. Whom is an American....works at Starbucks saving money to open his own coffee shop. As her stay is getting closer to an end...she is faced with tough choices...

What does she do??

It's very interesting...this book shows how it really is in the middle eastern countries (maybe not all...but most)and how she evolves as a person by being able to show her true feelings and the opportunity to speak freely, go anywhere unescorted, not having to use a hejab and have to be all covered up...from purchasing her first Victoria's Secret, drinking her first alchohol, mingling with another sex. Even falling in love...

So..after reading this book i take that the moral of it, is...don't take life for granted...when a good chance comes to you...take it (of course put a lot of thought into it first)! Appreciate what you have...cause others may have it worse than you..dreams do come true....never give up on hope, faith, love & destiny...You may not have or get what you want now...or be who you want to be with...But eventually, the path will cross....but in a different way ;-)

1st Tarawih @ Wisma & forgotten posts...oooppsss!

The outcome of the 1st tarawih and buka bersama @ wisma was quite good...but there were a lot of new faces. And of course, I didn't get to pray...since i didn't...i waited in their dining room with all the other mommy's that had to watch over their babies too. I was kinda bummed...had wished i was in main hall listening to the khotbah though....but one was crying and the other...jalan2 sini situ....ribetzzzzzzzzzzzz..i don't mean that in a bad way...it's just that, bakal ngeganggu org yg ngasih ceramahnya...As for the food, well this is what I had for buka (yummmm-O!!): Jeffry was the one who had gotten my food...he had basically put everything that was served on my plate! I was busy with the kids feedin' them...when i saw what he gotten for me... jokingly i had said.."whoa mas..you had gotten me so much food..you know, i'm not eatin for 2 anymore! hehehe...but i appreciated it. Tentu Yayah...... (that's how anjeli would say it =P )

As said in my post title...i had forgotten to post this... A couple of weeks ago...on Labor day weekend...we had taken the kids to the Children Playground in Golden Gate Park...and decided to have a mini picnic...cuz the weather was just really nice. So, we just bought a bucket of KFC and drinks from the asian market. Anjeli, lately, has been scared of naik everything but the slide...she wasn't like that before. Parisha is almost 7 months...so this was her 1st time going on the baby swing...she seems to like it...but she makes these espression as if she's tickelish or something..hehehe...

Anjeli Sillyness =)

Here are a couple of snipet of Anjeli just acting her funny & silly self...The first video is anjeli doing "The wheel on the bus.." and the other...she was supposed to do the "Tepuk2 Tangan " song...which she had known how to do since she was 10 1/2 months old...but i guess she's just being lazy here. The other was taken when were in LA @ Barlina's house...Anjeli's impersonation of Eryka Badu...i guess??? hehehehe ... Enjoy!!

1st Day of Puasa

Well...the 1st day of puasa is no biggy for me...cieeee! Why??? Lagi ada halangan boooowwww! Sux though...the chances of me being able to sholat Eid is small =( But insya Allah i'll b able to. Anyway, yesterday I had cooked ...what we call Gulai Masin...but it's only good with fish & vegies, telor dadar (not scrambled eggs)..hmm...apah yah...like egg fu yung hai lah...but ala Me..hehehe..and of course Teh Manis. Abisnya, ituh yg paling cepet...and u know when u get off from work..just trying to think of what to cook is pusing...apalagi buat buka pausa.

Hmm...for those of u back home...puasa here is so different! Gak ada u know...apah namanya...that "geduk2". Paling liat jam udah waktu magrib lom yah??? Or for those who have computers @ home...yg masang azan buat sholat. And of course day light savings. Since it's still summer here...we don't eat till 7.30. Good thing it's later in the summer not earlier in the summer. If it's earlier in the summer...bisa2 buka puasanya jam 9pm or 9.30pm. Can you imagine...and imsak a lot earlier! Going through that makes you understand what it feels like for those homeless on the streets are going through...or beggers. It makes u appreciate what you have. Even as little food u have on the table.

Disini jg ada tarawehan bersama...anyone and everyone is welcome to come..once or twice a week on the weekends of course...it will rotate to whomever is open for their house to be used...Everyone would bring food....tarolah potluck...then followed by ceramah. Our firt tarawehan bersama is this Saturday @ Wisma. That's one other thing that's different here. I don't know how it is back home. Maybe they do that too. If I had a big house I'd love to do that too!

Actually, years back...i had done buka bersama @ our place...the turn out was good...of course it wasn't potluck...I invited our close friends...hopefully one day...bisa gituh lagi...

So..back to puasa...i'm definately looking for forward to next week! I can start my fasting!

Looking forward...but, yet not....

I can't believe a year has passed since we last came upon Ramadhan. I am looking forward to it this year. It's been 2 years that I haven't participated in fasting due to the 2 pregnancy I had back to back. I owe so much this year...with that thought in mind....i'm going to try my best to start praying 5x a day...I'm not going to lie...I haven't been doing that in quite some time...n not only that...become a better moslem...and a better person in & out..

Hopefully at the end of Ramadhan...i will be rejuvinated and able to start anew... looking forward to more good things in life, love, and prosperity...insya Allah...

What I'm not looking forward to, is...at the end of this month...my best of bestes (if there is such a word) friend is leaving. I hate having to part from someone I love and care for so much. I've experienced it before...it wasn't a nice feeling. Especially knowing and having the thought in mind "when will i be able to see this great person again??" Guess, just try to make the best...of the situation...right???
Sometimes I ask myself or to Allah..."why was I linked to this person...have such great times together...good bad...but at the end have them part from me??" I guess, that's what make us appreciate life, friendship, and love more....

Am I making any sense??!!!! Anyway, anywho...anyhow...

So...my mood and feeling right now..is all mixed...there is something i am looking forward too...but, yet not... =/
